In 2001, LEGO teamed with director Steven Spielberg to release the LEGO & Steven Spielberg Movie Maker Set, which included computer moviemaking software, a PC camera, and LEGO pieces to film. That set spurred a budding LEGO moviemaking scene that has been propelled along by the acquisition of high-speed internet connections.

"Robot Chicken", a popular series on Cartoon Network, often features short LEGO films. Here is an amusing one about the construction of Egyptian pyramids.
